Ep 701 "Dragonstone"

Season 7 finally premiered last night! Before the theme song or credits even ran we got our first scene and it was of Walder Frey. Or, it looked like Walder Frey, but was actually Arya getting her revenge on the rest of the Frey family using the magic she learned about faces at the House of Black and White. "Walder" is holding another feast at the Twins for all of the men in his family. Even though they just had one, he says he's gathered them there again to discuss his great plans for the family and what they will do now that winter has come. The servants pour everyone wine for a toast. The Frey's aren't the fanciest and normally don't drink wine, but Walder has acquired a special wine for this feast. We all knew they were about to bite the dust. Especially when Walder (Arya) tells his latest young wife not to drink it because he doesn't want to waste good wine on a woman. The men gulp the wine down and Walder says he's glad they a

Will we ever get The Winds of Winter?

Image
Steve Jennings/WireImage   It's been six years since A Dance with Dragons was published. In 2015, we were told by the publisher that the sixth book, The Winds of Winter, would be released November of that year. George R. R. Martin then came out and said he was stopping all guest appearances and working on the book to be released in April 2016, right before Season 6 began. Again, that date came and went with no book. Now there is talk of 4-5 "spin-off" series that would be prequels to Game of Thrones with pilot scripts being written for HBO as we speak. Martin is heavily involved in this process, which is further taking his attention away from the sixth and seventh books of the series. It's been over a year since we heard any rumors of a publication date. George R. R. Martin encourages his fans to be patient while most articles refer to us all as "impatient fans." I think we've been more than patient since we've already waited

My Theories for Season 7

Image
Only 5 weeks and 2 days left until Game of Thrones starts. We've gotten a teaser trailer, some pics and an official trailer so there is plenty to analyze as to what may happen in Season 7. Here are some of my theories. VISCERION & RHAEGAL GET RIDERS Image via HBO. Dany claimed her Targaryen bond with Drogon back in Season 4 and its only grown stronger since then. Now it's time for Viserion and Rhaegal to get riders. We have 13 episodes left and two riderless dragons who can help in both of the wars to come. No Targaryen has ever controlled more than one dragon at a time and the dragon always has three heads. Check out my theory from a couple of months ago on who the other riders may be http://gamesforthethrone.blogspot.com/2017/03/my-crazy-game-of-thrones-theory-season.html . Though part of me hopes I am wrong and Tyrion is somehow destined to be a dragonrider. NYMERIA RETURNS Image via HBO. This face from Season 1 is enough to break

The Official GoT Season 7 Trailer!

Image
HBO finally released the official trailer for the seventh season of Game of Thrones. If you haven't seen it yet, here is the link: https://youtu.be/giYeaKsXnsI CERSEI'S MAP                                          Picture courtesy of HBO It looks like Cersei has made an addition to the Red Keep, her own map of Westeros painted on the floor of the castle. All the more better to stomp on her insufferable people. She assures her brother that even though they have enemies to the north, south, east and west, they will prevail. According to the latest edition of Entertainment Weekly, the producers say that Cersei has thought about the dragons and may have a plan to defend against them. The only thing I can think of at the moment that could somehow compare to dragons is wildfire, which is said to be the closest thing to dragonfire. Surely after the Battle of Blackwater Bay and her destruction of the Sept of Baelor last season her stores have been used

The Starks are Reunited!

Image
The Starks are reunited! At least, in the latest edition of  Entertainment Weekly. EW released a total of five Game of Thrones covers and one is exclusive to Barnes and Noble (the whole group). You can also order individual copies or a bundle of all covers at https://backissues.ew.com /. In the article, the showrunners have promised that season 7 will be fast-paced and action-packed. More so than any other season with some of our favorite characters finally sharing screen time. "Things are moving faster because in the world of these characters the war they they've been waiting for is upon them." (D.B. Weiss, executive showrunner).  Even with season 7 being only seven episodes instead of the usual 10, the producers have promised that fans will get plenty of content. There is at least one huge battle scene involving the dragons, which are now as big as 747s, an epic sea battle and a battle up north described as "a shark attack on dry land." Sounds pretty

HBO Releases 15 Game of Thrones Season 7 Photos

Image
HBO released 15 promo pics last week for Game of Thrones season 7. Fans of the show are analyzing and speculating on each and every one. Hopefully HBO will continue to drop footage and photos for us to obsess over while we wait for season 7 premiering 07.16.17. See the pictures below as well as theories I've seen so far... Jaime and Cersei It looks like Jaime is still planted firmly by his sister/lover's side (at least in public). I say that last part because Jaime became the Kingslayer for killing The Mad King Aerys Targaryen because he talked about doing the exact thing Cersei did, blowing up half of Kings Landing. (Technically, I think The Mad King wanted to blow up the entire city, but no need to nitpick). Nerdist just posted a new theory about the possibility of Jaime being the prophesied return of Azor Ahai and revealed a theory that perhaps Jaime and Cersei are only half Lannisters, being the children of Joanna Lannister and Aerys Targaryen. This rivals

My Crazy Game of Thrones Theory - Season 7 Teaser "The Long Walk"

I've had this crazy theory for a while, but after seeing this trailer yesterday and having the time to digest it I'm thinking more and more that it could be true. If you haven't seen the trailer yet here is the link: https://www.facebook.com/entertainmentweekly/videos/10154620448267734/ So, here it is. There are three Targaryens in Westeros. Dany of course, who has taken her families seat at Dragonstone until she can knock Cersei's butt off of that Iron Throne. Then there is Jon who has been confirmed as a "Stargaryen" (Stark and Targaryen, son of Prince Rhaegar and Lyanna Stark). Last, but not least that leaves Cersei. Wait, WTF?!? How can Cersei be a Lannister? This is how... In the books (and the show) Tywin Lannister was married to his cousin Joanna. This was the mother of Cersei, Jaime and Tyrion. Tywin Lannister and Aerys Targareyn (aka the Mad King) were best friends at one time and dirty old Aerys had a thing for Joanna. When Tywin and Joanna were
