GoT Ep 605 “The Door”

What the Hodor! Such an amazing episode and an emotional roller coaster. It moved some storylines along, hopefully getting Arya out of this House of Black and White funk, getting Jon and Sansa closer to marching towards Winterfell, getting Dany back to Mereen and (more importantly) closer to Westeros and showing us how Hodor got his new name. WILL A GIRL EVER BE READY? Arya and the Waif are still on this stick fighing/bojitsu marathon. I thought we were past this already. A fan needs a girl to start doing something else. Arya shows her toughness by getting the snot knocked out of her, getting back up and then getting sucker-punched. I could see Chris Tucker standing over her saying, “You got knocked the fuck out!” The Waif says she will never be one of them, calling her Lady Stark. Jaqen gives Arya a history lesson on how the Faceless Men got started. We see how a lot of different things got started in the Game of Thrones world in this episode. The Faceles

GoT Ep 604 “Book of the Stranger”

Theon made it back to Pyke. His sister, Yara, isn’t happy to see him because of how he treated her when she tried to rescue him from Ramsay Bolton. He tries to explain (without getting into specifics) how Ramsay broke him and how afraid he was. Yara confesses she knows exactly what Theon went through because Ramsay sent their father Theon’s severed penis. In her eyes, it still doesn’t excuse his behavior or make up for all the men who lost their lives trying to save him. She thinks it’s very shady that he’s shown back up on the Iron Islands so close to their father’s death and believes he wants the driftwood crown. Theon exclaims he is not there for the crown. He is not worthy of it and does not want it, he only wants to help her win it and rule the Iron Islands. Lord Baelish returns to the Eyrie while his stepson, Robin Arryn, is practicing archery. Robin has plainly acquired zero fighting skills. Baelish presents him the gift of a falcon. Lord Royce has bee

Episode 603: “Oathbreaker”

Ser Davos stands dumbfounded as he finds Jon Snow alive and mostly well on the table where they left his body. Jon sits up and looks around, then feels the stab wounds his sworn brothers gave him. Ser Davos gives Jon his cloak so he can cover up as Lady Melisandre enters. They ask Jon if he remembers anything. He says he remembers being stabbed in the heart, but after that there was nothing. No heaven or seven hells, no watery hall of the Drowned God, fire or ice, nothing. Ser Davos explains how Lady Melisandre brought Jon back from the dead. She tells them that she realizes she was wrong about Stannis. He was not the prince that was promised, but someone has to be. Ser Davos asks to have a moment alone with Jon. Jon says he did what he thought was right for everyone and he got murdered for it. “Why am I back? What does it matter?” Davos advises Jon to fight and go on as long as he can to clean up whatever “shit” he can before death comes again. Jon says he failed before and

Ep 602 "Home"

Woohoo! Jon Snow ain’t dead no more! Melisandre finally did something right. I may have to convert to serving the Red God R’holler for that one. Fans of the show have been hoping and wishing for Jon Snow to be resurrected for a year and book readers have been waiting even longer. And, it looks as though more prayers may be answered in next week’s episode. (As in, we may finally find out the promise Ned Stark made to his dying sister Lyanna!) Some things to correct from last week’s recap: 1) Trystane was in Kings Landing, not Dorne. I thought Prince Doran had sent his son to Kings Landing with Jaime and Myrcella and a couple of the Sand Snakes, but I had to rewatch episode 49 “The Dance of Dragons” to be sure. Which brings me to this question, if they are in King’s Landing, how does nobody know the Sand Snakes killed Trystane? Did the two women tuck tail and run back to Dorne? 2) I called Miranda, Kyra in last weeks post. Sometimes its hard to keep the names righ
